Gir National Park Is In Spotlight to Host Asiatic Lion Cubs in the World

From the latest resources it is divulged that Gir national Park in Gujarat would be the only place where Asiatic lion cubs will be hosted in the world. This is tweeted by Prasar Bharati News Services. 

Gir is the final residual residence of the Asiatic Lion and one of the most flourishing wildlife protection projects of India. The forest is extended across Junagadh and Amreli regions. It has an area of 1,883 square kilometers. Gir National park is spread across 1,412 square kilometers of protected area and covers 259 square kilometers. The park is dry and remains dry for most of the season apart from monsoons.

Gir National Park has more than 400 species of vegetation, 38 species of animals, 300 species of birds and 37 species of reptiles. Gir National Park is famous for Asiatic lion, Leopard, Jungle cat, Hyena, Jackal and Mongoose. The most found mammals during safari are Chital, Nilgai, Sambar, Four-horned antelope and Chinkara. Chital, Sambar, Peacocks and Monkeys.

Now it’s time to look after the Asiatic lion cubs and focus on increasing the census of Asiatic lions. Tourists can have more Asiatic lions spotting chances.
